History

Starting point 1902

Odd Godager & Co. and Bucha Godager & Co. were the managing companies the brothers Odd and Captain Jul Bucha Godager established for their shipping activites, starting as early as 1929. Their father was shipbroker Oscar Fredrik Godager, from Brevik (Norway) established 1902.

Sizeable growth until 1986

Shipowner Jan Bucha Godager built, together with partners Fearnleys (Fearnley & Egers Befraktningsforretning) in Oslo and A/S Navare in Bergen, one of the country's leading shipping companies with more than 15 dry cargo and tanker vessels, drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, and wood processing industry in Østerdalen.

After several very profitable years between 1960 and 1980, the business was closed in 1986 when the I/S Norse Mountain cooperative was dissolved. Godager Management AS (formerly Rederi A/S Odd Godager & Co. and Odd Godager & Co. AS) is the surviving company after the shipping company's 90-year history, which also includes Cardigan Shipping Company Ltd. in England.

Integrity- and principled based services is sustainable basics

Today, Odd Godager (63) has a versatile background from ship financing, business facilitating, portfolio management and corporate finance. Including several years dedicated to carbon capture and storage.
